Spring 2023 is finally here with the days are getting longer, the weather is warming up, and we can finally start spending more time outdoors! Spring is the perfect time to start thinking about gardening. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a complete novice, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
What should I Plant?
First, consider what you want to grow. Do you want to focus on flowers, vegetables, or both? Once you’ve decided what you want to grow, you can start planning your garden layout. Make sure to leave enough space between plants for them to grow properly. Next, you’ll need to prepare the soil. This involves adding organic matter, such as compost, and making sure the pH level is correct. Once the soil is ready, you can start planting! Finally, don’t forget to water your plants and give them enough sunlight. With a little care, you’ll have a beautiful garden in no time!

Weeding
Spring is the time to stop weeds in their tracks before they take hold. As the ground warms up and the sun encourages growth this is the perfect time to get them out so they do not take needed nutrients from the plants you want to thrive.
Pruning
You can start to prune plants such as hydrangeas by looking for strong healthy buds and then cut the old dead flowers back just above them. You might also want to thin out some plants to encourage new growth.
